Earth Care

A collection of short essays about this beautiful Earth of ours and its many non-human occupants, with emphasis on a comment by Irish-born British statesman, Edmond Burke (1729-1797): "No one ever made a greater mistake that he who did nothing because he could do only a little." It is up to each of us to do a little to care for this Creation, and each essay gives you a suggestion.

Earth Care by Peggy Sias Lantz

Earth Care: a Florida Naturalist's Thoughts on Creation is a collection of short essays by Peggy Lantz, a lifelong resident of Central Florida and passionate lover of nature. Often witty and always informative, Peggy shares her gentle wisdom gleaned over 90 years of living on and caring for the land that has been in her family for three generations, on topics from pollution, native flora and fauna, and the restoration of habitat. The essays in Earth Care were originally written for members of Oakland Presbyterian Church in their weekly newsletter, appearing from Earth Day 2023 to Earth Day 2024. Peggy has authored nine books and countless articles about Florida nature and history, and her work is an excellent and informative collection for any age group interested in local conservation in Central Florida.
